Lahaina is really the only thing going on after dark in Maui. I don’t remember seeing any clubs at all, but there has to be something and if there is, I’d bet it’s in Lahaina. Best of luck, have a great trip.

The Genuine Maui Digs and Real Island People can be found at the Mana Kai on Keawakapu Beach in Kihei bordering Wailea. I was raised on Maui. Believe me. You can spend alot more money than this and not even get a clue about what hawaii is about. There is also no hotel as close to the water and no better place to relax period. laid Back as can be. Enjoy Mimosas or Bloody Marys while you watch the sun rise or set in their ground floor open air restaurant. The Hawaiian Sweet Bread French Toast with Fried banannas and Ginger Butter with Coconut Syrup is DaKine Onolicious! BElieve me. Check it out.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it’s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. My favorite hotel/condo is the Kaanapali Ali’i…it is beachfront and the rooms are magnificent as well as the perfect location…Christmas time is high dollar peak season, rates will be high at all accomodations in Hawaii at that time. This condo hotel fills up quickly..if you are interested you will need to book immediately.Aloha and Congratulations on your upcoming marriage!

Of course, that is the most expensive time to be staying in any hotel or resort, except for those that cater mainly to businesspeople. You will pay a high premium for staying in Hawaii over Christmas.

You could try HomeAway.com for condos and apartments. TripAdvisor.com has comments from past guests at hotels and resorts.

I’ve stayed at the Kihei Akahi, the Kihei Beachfront Resort, and the Kihei Alii Kai. All were comfortable and reasonably priced. The last time I was there in 2007 the Kihei Beachfront Resort was closed for major renovations and I don’t know if it’s re-opened. All of these are condo complexes with full kitchens, which is nice if you want to prepare some of your own meals. Even if you’re planning to go out for dinner every day it’s nice to be able to have breakfast in the condo or pack a lunch to take to the beach.
